Description:
The intended use of this object is unknown, but the metalwork is highly accomplished. Killer whale and thunderbird imagery are superimposed. The whale appears to be diving. His now missing dorsal fin was riveted to the two small holes near the center. The whale's fluke tail also represents the thunderbird’s face. The thunderbird’s eyes have abalone shell inlay. His talons grasp the back of the whale’s head. This arrangement of killer whale and thunderbird is similar to a comb in the collection.
