Description:
Navajo Chiefs’ blankets are the most recognizable of all Navajo weavings. They were eagerly sought after more than a century and a half ago by other Native Americans, and are still prized by collectors, tourists and travelers. Second Phase Navajo Chiefs’ blankets are a transition in aesthetics from the earlier First Phase style, adding boxes, rectangles or diamonds to the simple striping of First Phase designs.
