Description:
Mantas were a fundamental piece of women’s clothing, worn as a dress or over the shoulders as a blanket. The elaborate red and green embroidered borders are a mirror image of one another, standing out against the contrasting black background. Weavers from the Acoma pueblo were known for their superior skills, making their textiles extremely desirable.
