Description:
Wearing armor was an important part of a warrior’s physical and spiritual readiness for war. This armor’s thick walrus or sea lion hide effectively deflected an opponent’s attack. Additional power and protection came from its painted imagery, now faded from use and age. Images of bears, wolves and similarly powerful beings are found on comparable examples.
