This basket is notable for its exceptional weaving and painted imagery. It also represents the collaborative effort between a Haida woman and a Haida man. She bordered the rim with a diamond pattern and wove a precise, smooth surface for the sides that were reserved for the painting. The man then painted the image of a bear in black and red. This same type of collaboration took place with the weaving and painting of hats.
