Twana (Skokomish) women wove baskets such as this one to store foodstuffs or wool. This design has both geometric and pictorial elements - vertically arranged geometric elements appear on the sides while wolves with their tails pointing down circle the rim. Weavers also depict dogs but they are portrayed with upturned curled tails.
